Originally finished in a dark stained timber, the existing woodwork, including the banister, spindles and handrail, had a heavy and dated appearance. The aim of this refurbishment was to completely transform the space, creating a brighter and more contemporary feel while retaining the character of the staircase.
All timber surfaces were thoroughly prepared prior to decoration. This included careful sanding to provide a smooth, sound surface and ensure proper adhesion. A specialist stain block was then applied to prevent any bleed-through from the original dark finish. The woodwork was finished with one full undercoat followed by a durable high-gloss top coat in a crisp white, delivering a clean, vibrant and long-lasting result.
The walls were fully prepared, making good any minor imperfections before being finished in two full coats of dusty pink vinyl matt emulsion. The soft tone complements the fresh white gloss woodwork beautifully, creating a light, modern and welcoming space with a refined finish throughout.
